Denotation & Connotation:
The denotation on this advert is a perfume, which has shades of blue, black and white on the perfume cover. Using these colours shows danger, this means that this perfume would more be used at the night when wearing posh black clothing as well. This is because men’s and women more often wear these sorts of colours to a special event. Font, the font is like this because to show that this perfume is simple and that is goes with the bottle.  By using the colours blue and white as the font shows that it blends in with the bottle. This means that the bottle and the font coordinate perfectly. And because it is really simple it could attract more attention from people. Shape of the bottle, the shape of the bottle shows that is for woman’s you could see this by the bottle being really slim. Having the bottle shaped like this could mean that this perfume is more aimed for feminine woman. On the cover of the perfume you could see that this perfume is aimed at woman because of the flowers on the perfume. Flowers are more feminine. This advert uses magic ingredients, you could see this by the way the smell of the perfume had just attracted a man when opening the door. You could also see that this advert is aimed for more high class people which loves to smell good and love to spend money on the things that would make them look more high class. You could see this by the setting of the advert, by the characters in the advert wearing good clothing e.g. all the men in the advert wearing posh suits, and the lady in the advert wearing a dress which you wouldn’t see woman wearing without going somewhere exclusive.

Target audience:
This perfume is aimed for more of a high classed person, which loves to go out partying. This perfume is aimed at people that love the posh smell with wearing posh clothing. The age range for this perfume would be high class 19-30 above people. People that have loads of business’s and money would buy this product. You could see this by the advert, having the woman and men wearing suits and dresses. You would mostly say this perfume is aimed for people with money and that loves to spend money on their sensational things. You could also see that this perfume is aimed for people that have this brand already with other many high classed brands E.g. Dolce and Gobbana, Gucci, Paca Rabanne and many more. You could also see that celebrities would prefer to these sorts of perfumes. Obviously you could see that this perfume is aimed at females, females that are high represented. You could also see that the woman that buys this perfume would read more of a high class magazine and newspaper, which also gives a lot of information on life style.
Techniques that have been used in this advert:
The appeal that has been used in this advert is snob appeal. You could see this when in the advert the female model opens the door for the male model and then after that both models are smelling each other. By using snob appeal in the advert it shows and tells you that if you wear this perfume you would get a lot of attention also that you would be more attractive. Not only is that it also telling the audience that you would feel more luxurious, glamorous and make you feel that you have a better life style than other people.
Both these adverts are the same but the only difference you could see is that instead of the male model holding the female model the woman is more of holding the man. This shows that the second picture is aimed for men who also have the same class and standard as the woman version perfume.
